We are specialist employment lawyers dealing in all aspects of Human Resources (HR) and UK Employment Law.
Our Company was founded by Laura Milne, one of the UK’s top HR and Employment Lawyers who, with 20 years experience, is frequently asked to appear on the news to explain HR law in simple terms.
Laura previously worked with the UK’s top Employment Law firms in Edinburgh and London before setting up her own business in 2008. By 2011 that business had expanded and rebranded to become LIME HR.
At LIME HR we saw there was a gap in the market for expert employment law & HR advice to be provided in pragmatic, sensible language with transparent and competitive fees.
We are down-to-earth, pride ourselves on our ability to advise clients in a straightforward manner without arrogance or legal “waffle”.
Our ethos: cost effective, swift, practical advice applying the law to you without jargon.
We now offer a fully outsourced HR department which includes professional indemnity insurance, HR Software and a variety of HR Professionals from part-time HR Admin Assistant to full-time HR Directors working on your premises. You can ‘mix and match’ the number of individuals you engage for your HR team and the hours that they do. Call us today to obtain a quote and get your very own HR Department on site today!
HR Template Policies / Letters / Scripts – Prepared by our specialist legal team who have specialised in Employment Law for almost 20 years.These documents are not the brief standard documents available for download from other providers. These are genuine, detailed policies, procedures and documents which are sculpted to suit the specific requirements of your business.
Training & Coaching – We appreciate that sitting in an HR Training Course is not most peoples’ idea of fun but we can make it stimulating and interesting. This way we ensure your Managers and you get value for the time they spend in training, ensuring your Managers know how to deal with tricky HR issues such as managing discipline, grievance, performance, sickness etc.
Practical Hr & Employment Law Advice – We advise on all issues concerning your business today, from relatively simple queries relating to sickness, absence, grievance, discipline, dismissals (to name only a few) to complex TUPE issues, agency workers, employment tribunals, redundancy (collective and individual) and discrimination.
Mediators – We can provide you with a qualified mediator to attend your offices or a neutral location and mediate a particular problem to a satisfactory resolution.
Tribunal – We understand how stressful and time consuming a tribunal can be on your business and managers, we provide practical advice and representation and can you lead you through the process in a calm professional manner.
RETAINER PACKAGES;
A basic retainer package starts at just 40 hours, for larger businesses we can create a bespoke package to suit your business’s needs but most SME Organisations with less than 100-employees tend to use a package of around 100-hours per annum. This is significantly cheaper than hiring in-house Counsel or HR. Our prices are competitive, you are covered by our professional indemnity insurance and, where Tribunal litigation is involved, we can offer you the option to purchase Legal Expenses Insurance as an add-on.
All retainer packages include;
- On-going HR and Employment Law advice as and when required – advice can be given by phone, email or in meetings.
- Regular email updates.
- Updates to contract and staff handbook templates to remain UK law compliant.
STAFF TRAINING can be provided using retainer hours or by special rate (see below).
FIXED FEES – apply for further details.
OUTSOURCED HR FUNCTION – SEE HERE for further details
HR SOFTWARE can be provided as an add-on to log details such as sickness, HR, maternity, parental leave, etc.
Our belief is you should only pay for services you use and so will not bind you to long contracts or build in expensive extras that you have not asked for. If you need extras like training or help defending a tribunal claim we will discuss the likely costs with you on a case-by-case basis and provide a bespoke and personal service.
