We are The Experts in Employment Law
We are specialist employment lawyers dealing in all aspects of Human Resources (HR) and UK Employment Law. Here are a few examples;
Our Company was founded by Laura Milne, an expert Employment Lawyer with almost 20 years experience. Laura has worked with some of the UK’s top Employment Law firms in both Edinburgh and London before setting up her own business in 2008. By 2011 that business had expanded and rebranded to become LIME hr; Legal Innovators for Managers and Employers.
At LIME we saw there was a gap in the market for expert employment law and HR advice to be provided in a pragmatic, sensible fashion with transparent and competitive fees.
We are down-to-earth, pride ourselves on our ability to advise clients in a straightforward manner without arrogance or legal “waffle”.
Our ethos: cost effective, swift, practical advice applying the law to you without legal ‘waffle’.
Hr on a Disc – Prepared by our specialist legal team who have specialised in Employment Law for almost 20 years.
These documents are not the brief standard documents available for download from other providers. These are genuine, detailed policies, procedures and documents which can be sculpted to suit the specific requirements of your business.
Training & Coaching – We appreciate that sitting in an HR Training Course is not most peoples’ idea of fun but we can make it stimulating and interesting. This way we ensure your Managers and you get value for the time they spend in training, ensuring your Managers know how to deal with tricky HR issues such as managing discipline, grievance, performance, sickness etc.
Practical Hr & Employment Law Advice – We advise on all issues concerning your business today, from relatively simple queries relating to sickness, absence, grievance, discipline, dismissals (to name only a few) to complex TUPE issues, agency workers, employment tribunals, redundancy (collective and individual) and discrimination.
Mediators – Where the need arises we can provide you with a qualified mediator to attend your offices or a neutral location and mediate a particular problem to a satisfactory resolution.
Tribunal – We understand how stressful and time consuming a tribunal can be on your business and managers, we provide practical advice and representation and can you lead you through the process in a calm professional manner.
A basic retainer package starts at just 20 hours, for larger businesses we can create a bespoke package to suit your business’s needs but most SME Organisations with less than 100-employees tend to use a package of around 100-hours per annum. This is significantly cheaper than hiring in-house Counsel or HR. Our prices are very competitive and where Tribunals involved we can be covered by the Legal Expenses Insurance provided by your business insurance policy.
All retainer packages include;
- Annual contract audit.
- On-going HR and Employment Law advice as and when required – advice can be given by phone, email or in meetings.
- Regular email updates.
- Updates to contract and staff handbook templates to remain UK law compliant.
Staff training can be provided using retainer hours or by special rate (see below).
Fixed fee’s – can be arranged to suit.
Hourly / day rates – can be arranged to suit.
We believe you should only be paying for services you actually use. We will not bind you into long and expensive contracts or build in expensive extras that you have not asked for. If you need extras like training or help defending a tribunal claim we will discuss the likely costs with you on a case-by-case basis and provide a bespoke and personal service.
